PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY
A condition of the nervous system that affects about twenty million Americans, peripheral neuropathy can be difficult to treat. This is because neuropathy causes can originate from anywhere in the nervous symptom and so can be challenging to determine. Sometimes caused by illness, as in diabetic peripheral neuropathy, the condition can also result from alcoholism, poor diet, a reaction to certain drugs, as in the case of chemotherapy, or an autoimmune disease like Guillain-Barre syndrome, lupus, or rheumatoid arthritis. Symptoms of neuropathy can include numbness, burning, pain, or tingling arms or tingling feet.
Doctors often prescribe medication for neuropathy symptoms, but it is not the best peripheral neuropathy treatment, because it does not address the underlying cause. Integrated Wellness performs a thorough examination of each patient, to determine the root of the medical concern, before designing a personalized treatment plan using natural therapies like chiropractic care, massage therapy, physical therapy, and nutritional counseling.
